My family has been going “camping” at the same state park in upstate New York since my dad was in second grade. I say “camping” because it's cabins that have running (but not potable) water, electric, and a gas stove. But you still have to pack up everything except the kitchen sink, so “camping.”

I often assume that people are busy. There have been times in my life where my husband and I have been booked out on weekends for 7 months straight (that was an insane wedding year when we were invited to 13 weddings). We’re very lucky to have the kind of a community where we’re surrounded by people and get to see them pretty often.
As a kid, I didn’t dream of going to space or becoming an Olympian. No thoughts of being a firefighter or a doctor. I didn’t even realize what I’d dreamt of was unique; I’d thought everyone felt the same way. When I was younger, I dreamed of throwing parties.
